Musical harmony is achieved when multiple notes blend together to achieve a pleasing and complimentary sound. In nature, harmony exists when all living creatures and flora fulfill their roles and benefit from one another. We are in harmony when the right balance is created between our core nature and drives and the personal demands, needs and goals playing out in our daily lives.
Our perpetual rush on the conveyor belt of life too often complicates and clouds our mindful attention. Today’s world can push and pull us in so many directions. How can we maintain focus on what can be done, when we are so often compelled to do what must be done?
Will peaceful harmony be attained when we finally acquire that prized job, credential or accolade we have been striving for; even if our focus and efforts keep us from embracing and enjoying the blessings of family, friendships, hobbies, fulfilling personal interests or partaking in exciting adventures? Perhaps, we might, for a while. Harmony equals the mindful blending of the parts present in ourselves with the parts and people present in our daily lives.
